Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be sell-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

This is part of a 10 part series on a study of the 10 commandments. As Christians we musts know and understand the laws of God so that we may begin to meditate in awe of his Laws and grow to LOVE them.

[Deuteronomy 5:20] You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor aka. DON'T LIE.  ^_^

The Lord your God is a God of truth. he utters no lies. As servants of God you must also do as your master does so that you may remain in his favour and under his protection. The father has given this law, thou must not lie so that servants of God do not become servants of Satan. For he is the creator of lies and the father of all that is not true. If you tell a lie and speak untruths, you become servants of Satan. You leave the holy protection of the Lord Your God and satan is given authority to trouble you and create problems in your life,. The lord gives this commandment so that his servants may remain under his holy protection and not be deceived by satan who only wishes to destroy his servants. Our God wishes only to give his servants life.

Study of Psalms 119 - Loving the Lord's Laws

In psalms 119, David teaches believers in Jesus Christ how to remain faithful to God.
165 Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
According to 119:165, we must Love [God's] Laws. If we do, we will not stumble or give in to sin.
But how? How do we love God's Laws?
 97 Oh, how I love your law!
       I meditate on it all day long.
 102 I have not departed from your laws,
       for you yourself have taught me.
104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
       therefore I hate every wrong path.

According to David, [a man after [God's] own heart] we must do the following things in order to love God's laws:

1. We must be taught the law of God by God so that we may gain understanding about that law. Understanding the law answers the questions, "Why exactly is it a law?" and "How does it helps us as believers."
 120 My flesh trembles in fear of you;
       I stand in awe of your laws.
David stood in AWE of God's laws because he understood them. We too must stand in AWE of God's laws. If we are yet to stand in awe of God's laws, it means that we have not yet fully understood His laws.

2. We must meditate upon the Lord's Laws so that it sinks into our hearts.

27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts;
       then I will meditate on your wonders.
After David gained understanding of God's laws, he chooses to meditate on God's wonders. We too must do the same.

3. We must make prayer and praise to God a daily habit. Meditating on God's word both night and day and anytime inbetween.
164 Seven times a day I praise you
       for your righteous laws.
David was a very busy King and yet he took the time to pause his duties as King and praise the Lord our God seven times each day.

We must strive to do what David did for the Lord called him a man after His own heart. We too can be after the Lord's own heart. I will begin a 10 part series of blogs explaining each of the 10 commandments the way the Lord has explained them to me so that you too may gain understanding of these laws and eventually start LOVING the laws of God!

I'm in Intl' develp. class right now and im just chilling during the break. I figured I'd share a little embarrassing story that happened at the beginning of class. After I strolled in about 10 mins late, (I was held of in line for a creamy ice cap at timmy's) I found a seat inbetween two boys in the back of the class. The teacher was already talking so I quickly pulled out my notebook and then as I went to pull out my pen I realized that I brought the pen from home that I stepped on a couple days before and it was broken in half. But not feeling like turning on my computer, I decided to just screw the pen in just enough so that i'd be able to write with it. Who tell me do dat!! As I started writing I thought to myself "Yes! Success, it works!" Less than a line into my notes my pen decided pop apart!! one part remaining in my hand and the next part sprung into my neighbours arm! Such embarassment. He turned to me and asked. . ."Do you need a new pen?"

Shame. hahaha. The life of Kiz.

Evangelism , Holiness, Sleeping bag Drive!

This past Friday me and two other girls from my church went down to toronto yet again to preach the good news and tell others about Jesus Christ. We're fairly new at this but we are determined to continue the Lord's work. That day one person chose to give his life to the Lord and the day was counted as a success!! Praise the Lord!

I've been seriously thinking about how I can grow and become mature in my faith in Jesus Christ. I read in James that through trials and perseverance a person becomes complete in his/her faith lacking nothing. He also said to be joyful when we as christians face trials because it only allows us to grow that much more in our faith. On that note, I'm excited to face some trials in my life. Although these trials do not come from God, God has always been able to turn a bad situation into a good one. So I turn to the Satan and I say bring it!!! For Jesus Christ who lives within me has already overcome this world and greater is he who is within me than he who is within the world. So I count myself ready.

On another note. IMANI, the Black student organization at UofT will be starting a sleeping bag drive at the beginning of November. All sleeping bags collected will be distributed to the homeless in the city of Toronto. A sleeping bag will provide a warm home for them until they can receive further help. Along with distributing these sleeping bags, we will also be sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ accompanied with food to those that we help. If you would like to help us in this mission, please contact me via email letting me know how you would like to help. We appreciate all sleeping bag donations of course but also canned food donations, bible donations as well as money contributions. Thank you!

In school that is... blahhhh

I've been falling off the blogging for a minute. It's all this adjusting to school starting business. I had to buy books and what not which I still haven't finished doing. I pretty much bought 2 notebooks ($10) Some school books ($250) but there are more that I still need to get. I had to pay for parking ($600) which I'm not so happy about as of yet. They are doing construction on one of our parking lots so since all the cars are packed on one end of the lot its suppppper hard to find parking right before class begins like what I'm used to doing. grrrr. I might actually have to leave 15 mins earlier just to get to class on time this year. wastteeeee.

Anyways, I just finished my first week of school which was non-eventful. Looks like I'm going to have E-nough work this year but I know through God's help alone I'll ace my classes.

I'll try to keep you updated though :) I'm off to my school now. It's club week and it's my turn to sit at our little table and promote our club IMANI inbetween our competition mishihi, south asian alliance, and African groupblahblah. *sighhhh* its gonna be a long day folks. Peace.!

Father Lord I have the utmost reverence for your name and I long to serve you for the rest of my days, show me your love and magnify your presence in my life so I might your feel magnificent presence in my life each and every hour of my life. The things that you have shown me and given to me are immeasurable. The love you have poured out on me is innumerable. I cannot contain your goodness for it is overwhelming to my soul. It is like a raging river that storms into my heart and washes away all of my sin making me pure and holy in the presence of my King. I long to serve you Father, I long to be in your presence, I long to be near you and I long to worship you. You are the Lord my God and my life is a sacrifice to you for you have sacrificed your only son for my life and I am giving my life back to you oh Lord. Thank you Father for saving me from my sins and redeeming me from the pit of hell and darkness. Thank you Father for saving me from the flames of the enemy and making me a new vessel in whom you securely dwell within. Thank you Father for choosing me to do your will and not throwing me away to fend for my self after I turned my back on you and hated you. Thank you father for forgiving me and making me new again and refreshing my spirit and cleansing my heart so that I may once again come forth to my King, serve Him, talk to Him, and give Him praise for He is good and His mercy endures forever. Praise be to the most high God for He is worthy to be praised now and forever more. Amen.

True wisdom.

I asked the Lord this morning, tell me great mysterious things for you are the Creator and you know all things. This was his respond to my question.

The Lord God is rich with knowledge and filled with understanding. He has heard your voice and will answer.
For many years, people have come to me asking me, "What are the mysterious wonders of the world?" "Share some with me so that I may gain wisdom." But true wisdom comes not from the things of this world but the things of a heavenly realm unknown to man. Listen to my words so that you may grow wise and knowledgeable in the things to come.

There’s more.. but that info is for me. If you wish to gain knowledge from the Lord, simply ask and have a pen and paper in hand ;)
